### A few notes

Maybe the best stopover isn't the one where you squeeze in another city.
I've found it's often the one where you read a book, drink some water and arrive somewhere feeling like yourself instead of slightly fried. On a recent travel day, I could have squeezed in one last connection, but I'd rather figure out something unfamiliar with a full night's sleep than a tired brain.

Solo travel has never been more popular, so it's frustrating that so much of the travel industry still assumes you'll arrive with someone else.

Being an introvert doesn't mean avoiding people. It means choosing when to be around them. Hostels, pub crawls and group tours are just options, not a rite of passage. The best travel style is the one that leaves you excited for tomorrow, not desperate for a nap.

### Solo travel tip

Sometimes the easiest place to be alone is in a crowd. Concerts, sports and festivals all give everyone the same reason to be there, not to wonder why you showed up solo. And if you do feel like talking, you've already got something in common.
