Chiang Mai combines low living costs and reliable remote-work infrastructure with one of the world’s most established digital nomad communities. You'll find plenty of co-working spaces, good coffee, and easy access to the mountains. Just keep in mind the burning season, which can make the air pretty rough.

Lisbon, Portugal (8/15)
Lisbon offers fast internet, plenty of co-working spaces and one of Europe’s largest digital nomad communities, backed by Portugal’s long-stay visa options. The weather is mild, the city is lively, and the coast is close, although its days as a genuinely cheap nomad base are fading.

Tbilisi, Georgia (8/15)
Tbilisi is affordable, has reliable internet, and offers visa-free stays that make it much easier to settle in than most European cities. The nomad community is growing, the food is unique, and it's easy to get out to the mountains or countryside if you want a break from the city.

Bansko, Bulgaria (3/15)
Bansko isn't your typical beach-and-laptop setup. It's a small mountain town where you can ski in winter, hike in summer, and still find an active co-working scene all year. I usually end up in beach towns, but Bansko is a good reminder that spending a few months in the mountains has its perks.
