A few notes
What could possibly happen and what is likely to happen are two different things. The internet constantly feeds us what could possibly happen. Good research in a specific destination, in a specific season, gives us a better sense of what is probable, and might be worth planning around.
I think a change of scenery can change how you feel without a big character reveal. We've turned solo travel into a form of self-improvement, which is great if that's what you're after, but it can also just be rest, curiosity, or enjoyment. Travel can absolutely change your perspective or teach you something, but that doesn't always have to be the goal.
A rest day doesn't mean staying in bed all day. It could be a leisurely coffee while taking in the morning hum of the city, a small museum, or wandering near your accommodation. However, if what you really want is to be out there doing things, but are hesitant, rest can become an excuse. And don't let having a rest day become another rule to follow, it's just one option of many.
Solo travel tip
Solo travel sounds less social, but it doesn’t have to be. Without a travel buddy, you can end up talking to locals, chatting with strangers, and making connections you’d probably miss in a group.
