What inspired me
I hate that marketing departments think everything needs a trend name, as if people haven't been going somewhere peaceful to read or stare at water forever. But this article points out that it's how you choose to use a destination that really creates this feeling. You can check emails from a cabin in Finland and be more stressed than when you arrived.
We usually figure out where to travel, and only after booking do we think about how we'll get around once we're there. But let's take a minute to appreciate a solid airport-to-city connection. Or a transit network that takes you anywhere in the city with ease. For those of us who like to move around on public transportation, these are great suggestions.
Intrepid recently published their 'Not Hot List' and did a good job of highlighting that these are places that are ready for more visitors and where more tourism could help. A lot of travel news this week built on the list, but it was this article, with locals and people who know the places well writing about what they love, that interested me most.
Somewhere new
Apparently I'm doing this list in order from top to bottom!
My last "big trip" before covid included two safaris in Botswana which were amazing!

Recently I've been thinking about Brazil and after some inspiration from Maya's Substack will be trying to include a liveaboard in the Pantanal whenever I make it there.
