Solo Together means joining a group tour as a solo traveller, keeping the freedom of solo travel, without eating every meal alone or figuring out night buses at 2 a.m.
I’ve done a few group tours as a solo traveler. One was great, one wasn’t really my style, and one was just me and one other person which got awkward fast. The company you pick matters more than you’d expect.
If you’re looking at group travel, don’t just read the itinerary for what you’re doing, pay attention to how the days are structured. For example, early starts sound great for beating crowds, but a packed schedule and little sleep can wear you down quick.
Solo Travel Tip: Even if you plan on moving around, book your first night or two. Arriving tired and trying to figure out where to stay in a place you don’t know is a fast way to make solo travel feel harder than it needs to be.
