Travel is mostly logistics pretending to be freedom
I usually book a travel health appointment with Passport Health before a bigger trip, but I once left it too late and ended up trying to figure out vaccines in a foreign pharmacy for my next destination. It worked out, but planning ahead is a much better strategy than hoping your high school French is good enough to discuss hepatitis.
One of the things I enjoy most about travel is discovering that there are countless 'normal' ways to do everyday things. That's part of the experience. The quickest way to miss it is expecting everywhere to feel like home.
There are so many flight search tools now that I usually end up opening Google Flights and ignoring the rest. What I like about this breakdown is that it explains when each app is actually worth using.
Travel Tip
Travel has a habit of asking for the one thing you can't immediately find. Keep a simple itinerary in your notes app, create an email folder for confirmations, and carry important documents together. Your future self, standing in an immigration line after ten hours in the air, will appreciate it.
