The destinations that inspired me this week
There's something about being near the water that helps people slow down. I usually think about the ocean, but this article reminded me how much I'm probably missing out on.
The most memorable wildlife encounters happen when the animal doesn't care you're there. I still talk about seeing a giraffe walking through the outskirts of town in Zambia. It wasn't a safari or wildlife tour. It was just a giraffe casually existing where giraffes happen to exist.
Travel doesn't always have to be about somewhere new. Sometimes the best destination is one you already know you'll enjoy. I enjoy visiting new countries, but I've also lost track of how many times I've been to Mexico.
Destination Tip
Hurricane season doesn't mean you have to skip the Caribbean. Places like Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, Trinidad & Tobago, Cartagena, and Bocas del Toro sit outside the main hurricane belt. Sometimes the path to somewhere interesting starts with crossing somewhere else off the list.
